Welcome to Mullein Hill Farm nestled in the Loess Hills of what is called Southwest, Iowa. This portion of the Loess Hills is situated on territories of Očeti Šakówiŋ and Báxoje. We are a family dedicated to honoring and learning the land which cannot be done without recognizing that we live on and around belongs to and was cared for by indigenous people for generations.
Mullein Hill Farm has a few main goals which involve connecting with the land, cultivating food and medicine using practices that improve the soil and water, as well as offering workshops and community events.
Mullein Hill Farm goals ... 1. Preserve + promote prairie ecosystems and their species.
2. Use regenerative farming practices to produce herbs, native prairie plants, vegetables, flowers, and seeds on the farm. We grow using organic and regenerative practices.
3. Practice land and place-based skills and foster connections between people of all ages and non-human species.
4. Provide space and inspiration for collaborative projects with diverse facilitators + guides.
